2. Eligibility

• Parents/guardians are responsible for monitoring their child's activity on HangoutHub.
• By registering, users confirm they have provided accurate and truthful information. False representation may result in account suspension or termination.

3. User Conduct

Users agree to:

• Use HangoutHub only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
• Respect other users and refrain from harassment, bullying, discrimination, or any unlawful behaviour.
• Not share or post content that is defamatory, illegal, obscene, or harmful.
• Not attempt to hack, disrupt, or misuse the platform under the Computer Misuse Act 1990.
• Not use the platform for any commercial, fraudulent, or unauthorised purposes.

Failure to comply may result in suspension, legal action, and/or reporting to law enforcement.

4. Account Security

• Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials.
• Any unauthorised use of an account must be reported immediately.
• HangoutHub is not liable for unauthorised access resulting from user negligence.
• We may collect and temporarily store a copy of an individual's identification document for the sole purpose of completing necessary verification and security checks. This is done to prevent misuse of our services, including malpractice or use of the app by anyone above the recommended age limit.
• We will retain this identification data only for as long as is necessary to complete the verification process and fulfil our legitimate interest in protecting the integrity and safety of our platform. Once the required checks are complete, the identification data will be securely deleted in accordance with our data retention and deletion policy.
• We process this data under the lawful basis of legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR) and, where applicable, in compliance with relevant age-verification and safeguarding regulations.

5. Content Ownership and Usage

• Users retain ownership of the content they create and share.
• By posting on HangoutHub, users grant us a limited, revocable licence to display and distribute their content within the platform.
• We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms or UK laws, including the Defamation Act 2013 and the Communications Act 2003.

6. Parental Controls and Child Protection

• Parents can request access to and deletion of their child's account under the Children's Code and UK GDPR.
• HangoutHub employs automated and human moderation to maintain a safe environment.
• Any suspicious, inappropriate, or harmful activities must be reported to our support team immediately.

7. Data Protection and Privacy

• We comply with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 to ensure data security.
• Personal data is only collected, processed, and stored as necessary.
• Users have the right to request data access, correction, and deletion.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• HangoutHub is not liable for any user-generated content, disputes, or interactions between users.
• We are not responsible for emotional distress, cyberbullying, or any psychological harm caused by third-party users.
• We are not liable for unauthorised access, hacking, or data breaches beyond our reasonable control.
• Users engage with the platform at their own risk, and parents should monitor minors.
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free service and are not responsible for service disruptions.

9. Reporting and Enforcement

• Any violations of these Terms should be reported to info@hangouthub.co.uk.
• We will investigate reported incidents and take appropriate action, including but not limited to warnings, content removal, account suspension, or legal reporting.

10. Termination of Accounts

• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account violating these Terms or UK law.
• Users may delete their accounts at any time by contacting our support team.
• Termination does not absolve users of any outstanding legal or financial obligations.

11. Changes to These Terms

• We may update these Terms periodically to reflect legal or operational changes.
• Users will be notified of any significant updates. Continued use of HangoutHub after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
